A supporter of alternative methods, from the beginning of my pregnancy, I wanted to approach motherhood in a different manner, more in touch with the natural world that surrounds us, and different from the conventional and classic methods that Western society presents.
This is how the following came to be part of our lives:
- Emotional preparation for birth (haptonomy),
- Delivery in a birthing centre with a midwife,
- Babywearing with a sling since my child's birth,
- Strong supporter of cotton diapers, and bamboo and hemp,
- Breastfeeding,
- Alternative medicine (plants, homeopathy, acupuncture, osteopathy).
Basically we try to adopt the most natural, ecological and simple methods possible.
Since I knew of few resources when I discovered babywearing, I learned myself from books and the internet. And while on a trip to France with my husband, we attended the wonderful information sessions given by the Peau à Peau association that we had learned about through the internet.
Little by little, as I noticed the lack of babywearing information in Quebec, I decided to share my knowledge and found others who were as motivated and passionate as I am and our adventure began.
At the same time I started my business to help publicize a range of unique products, that were very different from what was already available. I becam a preferred Canadian partner of the Peau à Peau association.
Lots of passion, a pinch of environmentalism and a zest for simplicity, this is my recipe for being a mom simply and alternatively, "Maman Simplement, Maman Autrement".
