It can be used with your baby on your front, on the back or both ways - it also works well as a maternity coat and you can still wear your baby on the back, or as a regular coat without your child.
There is a small hood for your child and multiple internal pockets as well as elastic cords that help to adjust the coat to give you a better fit.
